Isnt That Something?

Isn't it something that we can take the smallest problem and blow it up three fold?

Isn't it something that although happiness is a choice, we can find a reason to be sad?

Wouldn't it be awesome to open our hearts to the love of salvation through Jesus Crhist  and know that through his grace and mercy we are saved?

Dont you know that you dont have to go another day without the wonderful gift of salvation?

But you would rather be sad, lonely and let the devil just ride you to the ground?

Isnt that  Something? You dont have to feel that way!!  I hope this helps someone, no I know it will help someone see that you must put yourself on God's side to be on the winning team.

We somtimes find ourselves running on empty. We need just a little more energy, a little more time, a little more money, a little more peace. ! For those of us who are in the word of the Lord, know that God has everything we need before we ask. It says so right in the Bible Matthew 6:8. Thirst for Knowledge

If you can be trusted with little, you can be trusted with much. I am not talking materially this time. I am talking knowledge and wisdom. A little wisdom, a little knowledge, can carry you a long way and not just book knowledge. Big fancy words carry no weight if you dont have a clue what they mean.(and are using them just so everyone knows you own a dictionary) God gave us all a thirst for knowledge. A PARENTS LOVE

My father died yesterday.. My last living parent. I can't describe this feeling of being in the world without the love of an earthly parent. No one can or ever will love you that way. I am so glad I have a heavenly father who loves me so much. There would be no other way I could get through this. I will miss him just as I did when my mom passed some 15 years ago. What I am happy for is that I am saved by the grace of Jesus Christ. If not, I may have become angry.. But I have to fill myself with the love of Jesus that passes all understanding. DECISIONS!! DECISIONS!!!

The easiest decisions always seem to be the hardest ones to make. When our soul is in turmoil over a life decision, we already know the answer, we just dont want to be roughed up by the change. I admit, I am not the most patient person in the world, but I have found that when I wait on God, it always seems to come to me clearly. Thats right! HARD WORK PAYS OFF

If i dont post about Lebron James and the Miami Heat winning the Championship last night, my son will have a fit, but there has to be a lesson in my blogs. Hard work and determination will pay off even when it doesnt look like it, BUT its not going to happen until its time. When asked what was his first thought when he saw the clock tick down to zero and he knew he had won, he said "its about damn time". We have all been there before we work hard and we just know its our time to shine but it doesnt happen. But you have to keep at it. Keep the faith and most of all, stay inspired. When you hear that voice in your head tellng you that you can't do something or its too hard, that means that devil knows that God is getting ready to let you shine. So he gets right in your ear and tells you all the reasons why your dreams wont work. Get the Devil out of your ear! Regardless of how he trys, God's plans are ALWAYS going to come through. AlWAYS. HOW HAVE YOU CHANGED?

I had the chance to look back over some of my writings from some years back. Actually close to about twenty years back. I was ashamed when reading them because almost every entry was some materialistic goal i was trying to meet. Its was trying to get a new car, a new house and actually shouting my disagreement with God for not letting it happen RIGHT THEN! Well, two things, I wasnt saved back then and I was in my twenties. And as out there in the world that I was back then, I noticed there was not one thing that I asked God for that he did not bless me with, even if it was a material goal. But what I needed to be asking for was salvation. It took another decade for that to happen, but he already knew that I was his anyway. I was predestined to be saved and do his will. Everything has an order and mine is not yours and yours is not mine, but God knows just the way he wants it to happen. I hope when I look at my writings twenty years from now, there is more humble and thankful prose. But thats my story. What is yours? Love to all , Joyce

STAGNANT WATERS WILL STINK!!!

After a while, stagnant waters start to stink. To remain in a situation where you just refuse to move forward or backwards for that matter will begin to sour your soul. I recommend doing an inventory of what is important. The decision is easy from there on. Short one today, but chew on that. Love to all, Joyce

Here's to Happiness!

Sometimes we have to make our happiness as we go along. Its not already prepackaged on the shelves of life waiting for us to partake. I have to confess that I am a people watcher. Sometimes the smiles and happiness of others is all it takes to make my day a little better. And it takes the focus of me and my woes. CLOSE THE DOOR TO SELF PITY!!

Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy. When we are given chances, opportunites of a liFetime; that will change our lives forever, we reach deep down inside and open the room door of self doubt and pity. You know the room; where we keep all the negative things that are told to us. Maybe someone told you that you were stupid because it made them appear smarter. Maybe someone told you that you were ugly to make themselves appear attractive. Maybe everytime your smart beautiful self attempted something, you heard these words in your head. Well, I say its time to demolish that pity room you have built for yourself and step out on faith with the talent that was given to your by God and only God!! I dont believe God would give us ideas of aspiration if he did not believe that we could achieve them. And it thrills my heart to know that I am fighting the enemy of self doubt and winning! Second Chances.... We are often offered them, but rarely take advantage of it. I truly believe that life offers us second chances or phases in life if you will. This week, I experienced the most beautiful thing in the world. The birth of the most beautiful baby boy in the world. My first grandchild. I have added yet another title to my being and thats grandmother. My second phase of life. I think I am going to love it!! Now mine came by way of my grandchild. What is your second chance? Going back to school, changing jobs, changing states!, Whatever it is, dont be afraid to take a chance on your second chance. Love to all, Joyce

OH....TO BE A KID AGAIN!

When I was teenager, there was one thing I wanted to be more than anything in the world….. An adult! I couldn’t wait to be able to do what I wanted to do without anyone telling my otherwise. Well I got my wish but as most of you “adults” know, that title comes with a lot of responsibility. I cringe when I hear our young people wishing they were grown way before their time. Bless their hearts, if they only knew how we longed for our childhood bedrooms with no worry of mortgages, rent or utilities. To get up knowing the menu for today was not something we had to think about but it was just “magically” there when we got home from school. If they knew they should be savoring every moment of their kid and teenage years because just as they wish, adulthood will come and you can never go back. Chew on that one today…… Love to all, Joyce

ITS OKAY!

IN THIS FAST PACED WORLD WE LIVE IN, ITS EASY TO PUT MORE TIME AND ENERGY IN OTHER THINGS AND PEOPLE AND NOT DO "SELF MAINTENANCE". NOW DON'T GET ME WRONG, I AM NOT SAYING NOT TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR DAILY PERSONAL AND SPIRITUAL RESPONSIBILITIES. BUT IT IS STILL OKAY TO HAVE SOME "YOU" TIME. FOR MOST OF MY LIFE, IT WAS INSTILLED IN ME THAT TO THINK OF MYSELF FIRST WAS SELFISH. SO I ALWAYS ATTENDED THE NEEDS OF OTHERS. ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT WHILE I WAS TRYING TO FIX THEM, I WAS, AS THEY SAY A "HOT MESS". WHEN I STARTED WAKING UP PRAYING, TENDING TO MY SPIRITUAL BEING, DOING SMALL THINGS TO MAKE MYSELF FEEL GOOD.I STARTED TO GET IT. I WAS A BETTER HELP WHEN I HANDLED MY SELF FIRST. FEAR OF FLYING

We often thwart our own successes in life with fear. Fear of failure, of being laughed at, not being appreciated. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had a vision to do something and before I can get the idea straight in my head, I start doubting it.. Thinking of what people would say if I fail. I wonder just how many good ideas did I have that would have put me in flight? I guess what I am trying to say is, how do we expect to soar when we are afraid to fly? From what I hear, the view is great from above. So give yourself some “wing” room and start your ascent. Who knows, one of those ideas just may be the one that keeps you flying high for a long time. ….. In a good way, of course. Have a great weekend and Love to all, Joyce

NO MORE EMPTY PROMISES!

Isaiah 55: 11. So is my word that goes out from my mouth. It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it out.. What a promise from the Lord! I am a firm believer that if the Lord puts a purpose on your mind and in your heart, it has to happen. If it is according to his will, there is nothing in hell or on earth that can stop it from coming to pass. Some of us take the long route, but little do we know whether it takes 2 years or twenty years, when God’s will has to be done, it will be so. I am so glad that his words do not return empty. The world disappoints too many times with the lies of one’s tongue. And you know what? It’s so much easier when you ask God what his will is for you and follow through with it than trying to figure it out yourself. Believe me; it will save you a lot of time and loads of heartache. GIVE ME A CLEAN HEART..

Proverbs: 27:19- As water reflects a face, so a man’s heart reflects the man. A good friend of mine, actually my best friend has always believed in the heart of the matter. No matter what you do outwardly for the world to see, for worldly recognition; God knows your heart. He knows why you did it. This one was tough for me because I have found myself guilty of it without even thinking I was. For example, my kids love my red beans and rice and I just love it when they go on and on about how great they are. Now, I don’t cook them just to hear them say that, but I am human and I like the recognition. God knows my heart before I cut the first bell pepper or slice an entire pack of andouille sausage. So what I have learned to do is turn over to God anything that may give ME the recognition. I want my heart to be clean when God looks at it. When I put it into that perspective, I don’t think of how my children just love them, I thank God, for the ingredients, the pot, the stove, the use of my body and mind to prepare the food an yes, the roof he put over my head so I don’t have to cook them outside…. Which you can do, and they taste just as good.... But that’s another story. Be inspired to let God know that your face reflects your heart. Love to all, Joyce

FAMOUS? REALLY NOW....

When I was young, I dreamed of being famous. I envisioned being someone with money, affluence and notoriety. Maybe then, I could get the attention of the people that in my observance had it all. Well it didn’t work out that way. I’m not famous. Yet. (I am still certain God has huge design for my life, thank you very much!) But what I have learned is that the desire for worldly possessions and the yearning to please people can lead to the most wretched battle in life you will fight to inevitably lose. The bigger car, better house, the best job eventually will become an inexhaustible game of cat and mouse. It can never be won, just played over and over with fleeting satisfaction; because there is a void that is demanding to be filled with these material possessions. There is a void in your soul that can only be filled by the Holy Spirit and until you realize it, you will be in the cat and mouse race way longer than you intended! It is out of the love for worldly things that we lose sight of God. Instead of depending and trusting him, we tend to trust in people and the things of the world. What a disastrous move on our part. Don’t get me wrong, I truly believe that God blesses and can bless abundantly. Not, only do I believe, I am a living witness to it. But we must learn to seek him first. Matthew 6:33 tells us that. As hard as it may be, some things have to be moved in your life so you can seek and see God face. And whatever that ultimate blessing is you are seeking. The one that your soul moans and groans to God in words your mouth could not ever express, seeking him and doing his will, all this will be added to you. Be inspired to help someone in their spiritual journey. Remember you hadn’t always been the “perfect Christian” But that is another story…… Love to all, Joyce

You Never Know!

I can't tell you how many times, I thought that wishing was for children. That hoping for the extraordinary was only setting myself up to be let down. But today, I had the chance to experience the miracle of human appreciation. A patient at my job just told me how much my help has meant to him over the past 13 years Ive been here. I thought i was just doing my job. I never knew that my hello's, goodbyes, and remembering his first name, remembering that his wife was sick, or the name of his dog meant anything. But to him, it meant a lot. You never how your actions affect the lives of others. To inspire someone to comment on it. Just takes it to the next level! Be Inspired and Inspire. Joyce

YOU CANT DO WHAT YOU DONT KNOW!

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge the Lord and he will direct your path.. We think we have the answers..... As long as we understand why were are doing something, that is all that matters.... THEN it fails miserably and we cry and beat our heads against the wall wondering what went wrong..... OUR understanding! Thats what went wrong. In this life of mine, I have learned that everytime Joyce tried to do something with my all knowing self, I made a mess of it. But when I acknowledged God, and humbled myself, I was shown the direction in which I was to go. My friends, Do nothing without consulting with your Counselor, for he is all- knowing and well..... Happiness... Simplified

What seems to be the most simplest thing that can make you happy? I mean something money cannot buy, happy? Too often we forget that happiness is not in the quantity of days , but the quality in the way we spend our days. For me, something as simple as a thunderstorm makes me happy. With each rumble of thunder, I can close my eyes and forget about my troubles as God washes and cleanses the the earth. Find your happiness plain and simple in a rain shower, smell of flowers, or the sun shining on your face. Simply be happy. Love to all, Joyce
